I either have killer death ick or seasonal allergies (maybe both, lucky me), so I'm sitting at home today not getting much done, largely because breathing without coughing takes effort. I would actually rather this be killer death ick than allergies, if only because a cold will go away much more quickly. I guess I'll know for sure in a week or so.

In the meantime, have a photo of a cat on our messy kitchen table.

He's really not supposed to be on the table, but I heard paper shuffling from the other room, went into the kitchen with the iPhone, and there he was. Of course.

Thanks for the good wishes -- hopefully this really is just a cold. I feel marginally better than yesterday, anyway, which is a good sign.

Well it's definitely *cough* *hack* allergy season right now ...

Our car isn't completely covered with pollen, but I expect that to happen soon enough.

I hope you feel better & am glad to know I'm not the only one. I've just been wading through pudding for weeks, it seems.

Spring colds suck; hope you feel better soon, too. (Hmm, I wonder whether Passover-friendly pudding is available ... something to look into.)

Hot and sour soup for you, sir, stat! (The broth and the hot pepper will clear your nose out, at least for a while.)

i had to buy soup today cos i am in no fit state to be making it as i usually do and i added curry powder and lots of black pepper to it to make it more tasty and hot. no clearing of my sinuses, tho. bah.

That does sound tasty! I get better results with capsaicin, though, so I'd have gone for chile peppers or sriracha in my soup. YMMV.

I hope something works for you, though, because not being able to breathe out of your nose sucks so hard.

He's disgruntled because he knows I'm taking a photo of him. He's worse when I get out the real digital camera -- the noise of the lens extruding from the camera startles him.

(Hey has any doctor ever tried to get you to use a NETI pot? Basically a small water pitcher with which literally pour salinated water into one nostril while your head is sideways over a sink, and allow it to pour out the other side? I watched a friend do it recently. Aside from the uncomfortable confirmation that there's actually a hole in the head, its use has fairly sound arguments for its effectiveness.)

I've heard good things about neti pots but haven't tried one myself. I probably should.
