The Rules:

1. People who have been tagged must write the answers on their blog and replace any question they dislike with a new, original question.

2. Tag eight people. Don't refuse to do that. Don't tag who tagged you.

Bleah, I hate tagging people, but I'll be good: [livejournal.com profile] platypus, [livejournal.com profile] kalleah, [livejournal.com profile] profrobert, [livejournal.com profile] miz_hatbox, [livejournal.com profile] ghost2, [livejournal.com profile] radiantbaby, [livejournal.com profile] gritsinmisery, [livejournal.com profile] magicallaw.

01. Make a list of 5 things you can see without getting up.
Television, couch, purple rocking chair, coasters, wadded up foil from mini Reese's cups.

02. How do you style your hair?
I have very short hair I hardly have to do anything to, which is just the way I like it. But I do often put a bit of gel in the front to get my bangs to curve a little and convince the rest of the hair to stay down.

03. What are wearing now?
Plaid flannel pajamas. Aah.

04. What's your ringtone?
The outro to "I Can't Decide," because I am a geek.

05. What do you hear right now?
The hum of the MacBook Pro fan, and the distant sounds of whatever music [livejournal.com profile] columbina has on upstairs while playing Rift.

06. What's your favorite guilty pleasure treat?
Fritos or Cheetos. Both are banned from the house since I will simply eat whatever quantity of them exists, but one day at Gally, I had a small bag of Cheetos, which at that point I hadn't eaten in at least a year. They were totally delicious.

07. What are you thinking about right now?
Wondering when the hell my ibuprofen is going to kick in.

08. Write the first word that comes to mind.
"Lave," God only knows why. (Or as [livejournal.com profile] prof_pangaea might put it, "LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVE.")

09. Dog person or cat person?
I grew up with dogs (two golden retrievers) and still love them, but I don't really have the patience to care for one on my own. We've had cats for years here, though sadly, the last one died at the end of January; we've been catless since then, because we agreed it didn't make sense to try to break in a kitten and then abandon it for a week and a half while we're in Europe this summer. Col and I both really miss having a cat around, and a trip to the animal shelter is first on the list for after we return from summer vacation.

10. If you came across $2000 (or other currency) would you keep it or turn it in?
Wish I could keep it, but turn it in anyway.

11. What was the last thing you bought?
Other than groceries and gasoline? I downloaded Mockingjay for my iPad.

12. If you could afford to go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Japan (though, uh, not right now), Australia, New Zealand.

13. Where do you see yourself in 5 minutes?
Either wasting time online or reading my book.

14. Last book you read?
Catching Fire. I'd been wary of picking up the Hunger Games books, worrying that they'd been overhyped. But enough people whose opinions I trusted kept talking about how much they loved the books, so I downloaded the first one last weekend ... and then the second one barely 24 hours later.

15. What are you doing this weekend?
Ugh, time to start the taxes. I should also finally shred the pile of mail on the kitchen table before it starts growing sentient.

16. If you could play any musical instrument, which one would you play?
I can play several musical instruments already, although it's been a while: I was best at flute, but also played violin for a few years and taught myself some guitar. I wish I could play guitar better, does that count?

17. How are you?
Sobering up after the one drink I allow myself per week. Bleah.

18. What are you doing tomorrow?
The aforementioned taxes. Also, making quesadillas, which is infinitely more fun.

19. What are you looking forward to the most?
Sleeeeeeep. Had to get up too early this morning to teach a class, and it took an hour and a half to drive home. 9pm is a little early for bed, though.
