I may be a poor excuse for a Jew -- for one thing, I don't believe in God, and for another, BACON -- but there's still honey cake in my oven, and damned if it doesn't smell like the best thing in the world. It includes yesterday's leftover ginger sugar and a splash of haineux's ginger-infused blackstrap rum. You goyim have no idea what you're missing.

I need to have a discussion with Chip along the lines of "Hey, there's a Jewish holiday that involves really good cake? Why aren't we having any?"

JackieR on TUS pointed me to this recipe. I can't believe that anything with that list of ingredients could possibly taste bad.

And hey, technically, Rosh Hashanah lasts two days. There's still time to make cake!
