Things I have learned from knitting an octopus

1. Do not try to knit an octopus.

2. I cannot make a French knot to save my life.

3. I also apparently sometimes pick up stitches from the edge in the wrong direction, no matter how many times I try to pick them up in exactly the same way every time.

4. Knitting tentacles is incredibly boring.

5. The cats will never be impressed by my work.

6. Okay, at least it's kind of cute.

Thank you! The body is knitted in the round -- as I said upthread to significantowl, you're supposed to use dpns, but I used magic loop instead, because it's much easier on my hands. It's from a free pattern from Lion Brand Yarns, if you want it (you'll have to register on the site).

Of course, after I looked at the pattern again today, I realized I sewed the eyes on too high ... oh well, they look fine where they are.

Thanks for the link! (I like knitting on dpns so much I do it even when I don't have to. I had a sock phase a few years ago and the habit stuck.)

I might end up re-sewing the eyes. I used Photoshop to check how they'd look in the right place (I am a geek that way), and they'd be awfully cute ...
