This is me, attempting to not look a gift horse in the mouth. See? Not looking. Nope.
I'm going to see Hamlet in January. This is 150x more on-stage Tennant than I was originally going to be seeing at any point in my entire North American lifetime. But....god do I love him doing comedy. And good lord the accent. I am massively jealous of people getting to see both plays and I expect a *full* report.
I had heard very early rumors that he'd be using his accent in Hamlet, and was disappointed to learn that wasn't the case ... but considering this person heard the news about LLL from Tennant himself, I figure it's got to be true. And I am so, so weak for that accent of his.
I hate flying to the east coast, but damn, I hope that really does happen. Though I have to keep reminding myself that it would have no bearing on whether Tennant's doing S5; I'm sure that's already decided regardless, so I should stop trying to work out if the timeline is possible.
Yeah, given that the play would probably have a short run in New York (6-8 weeks would be my guess), and they might need less rehearsal time than before (assuming most of the same cast is used), it could definitely fit around S5.
Sadly, I found out this week that buying the RSC's new super-special overseas membership package won't do squat to get me early ticket access in the U.S. I suppose it's for the best. I wasn't looking forward to dropping $120 on a membership renewal based on nothing more than a rumor from a newspaper story about Hamlet.

Don't worry, there will be a full report.
