... and this is why I'll never have a career in politics.

If there's one thing I don't normally do, it's pimp my own fic. (That is, other than the usual announcements here and in other comms that I've posted something new, but that hardly counts.) Yet I now find myself in the position of having been nominated for a Children of Time Award for You That Way; We This Way, and if I want to win an award, I have to ask for your votes.

Don't get me wrong – I'm flattered by and grateful for the nominations, even if for two of the categories (Ten/Rose and Doctor Who Drama) I think there are better choices out there ... and in fact, I voted for other stories in both categories. I did vote for myself in PWP, though, and that's where I'd like you to cast your vote for me, if you plan to do so at all. I admit I am more than a little tickled that a story I don't completely consider PWP is nominated in that category, instead of the disturbingly large collection of kinkmeme smut I've written, but hey, I'm not going to complain about a nomination of any kind.

If you'd like to vote for me in this or the other categories, I thank you in advance. And if you choose to vote for someone else – well, you'd be terribly, terribly wrong to do so, of course, but I'll find it in my heart to forgive you. Somehow.

I've decided that PWP is a terrible term and extremely overused even by the people who apply it to their own fic (myself included). I just decided this, just now. *waves wand* There, now that we've got that sorted....

Considering I may have had something to do with one or two appearances you made on that list *cough* you have my vote, ma'am. There's no accounting for taste. Really.

I used to think PWP meant "Porn With Plot." Probably because it's so broadly (mis)applied. At least the "drabble" category really is limited to 100-word stories. (Well, I assume it is. I didn't count.)

Yeah, I was a bit perplexed when I saw that story in the PWP category, because ... it's not. But kudos. :)

I thought PWP stood for "Photo Editor Without Portfolio," aka "PEWOP." (Though you may be too young to know that reference.)
