I agree, it's very weird. But since it doesn't appear in the 11th edition of my trusty Merriam-Webster dictionary (official dictionary of the National Puzzlers' League, and therefore indispensable in my home), I felt like I had to pull it. Of course, now it'll probably turn up in the 12th edition just to spite me.
