I had AP style drilled into my head at the college paper, and Chicago drilled into my head when I worked as an editorial assistant. Combine that with a degree in creative writing and an anal-retentive, obsessive-compulsive personality, and you end up with a total style and grammar geek. (Actually, I'm pretty much just a geek; after all, this is not the first fic I've written that includes a quantum mechanics reference.)
Thanks for the compliment on the story, though. After nearly a month of staring at this thing, it's really kind of a relief to find out other people like it.
