I'm such a bad fic reader, because I've read this several times and I adore it to bits, yet I still haven't sent you any feedback. Well, no more. This is a gorgeous, absolutely wonderful story! I love your alt!Ace, and your Handy. I just love the way you write, full stop.
I'm not nuts about Seven/Ace as a (romantic) ship, so I was surprised how well Handy/alt!Ace worked for me. And how well Handy/Rose works as a contrast to it. Both relationships are portrayed in such a subtle, delicate way that makes me wish this could continue for a hundred more chapters, except at the same time not, because it ends in such a perfect place.
