Even if I'd felt like buying copies of the other entries I haven't read, they're all deep into an existing series, so I'd have no idea what was going on. I realize you probably don't want to restrict nominees to standalone stories, but when 2/3 of the entrants require hundreds of pages of prior knowledge to follow, there's something slightly fucked-up about the category.
