We spent very little time sightseeing in Montreal, mostly because we were there for the con instead of sightseeing, and also because we've visited before. But it's a beautiful city we do need to explore further, so we can find more gems like this, a section of the Berlin Wall:

Talk about something I'd never expected to see, much less randomly come across while following the underground pathway to the Palais de Congrès! I found it quite moving – I can't imagine what it must have been like to have concrete section after section of this dividing your city in two.
There was also a gorgeous multilevel light fixture in the Tour de la Bourse (the stock exchange):

The Palais itself is a magnificent building, one I could have spent an entire day photographing:

Its interior artwork, however, sometimes left something to be desired:

Some costume shots from the hallways and masquerade:

This one is grainy, because I had to zoom way the hell in to get the costume decal. Yes, it's the mighty Klingon hero Bat'leth! (Designed and modeled by a friend of

But my favorite con participant photo by far is this one, because of what the guy is carrying. We were walking by him outside, and when I realized what was on top of the squid tail, I stopped him so I could take a photo.
All hail the Winslow-Squid!
