APAD(ish) #10: Cones

We went apple-picking today, and I saw these on the ground:

Apple-picking is one of our autumn rituals: it's fun, it's social, it's picking your own food, it's playing in the trees. Also, there are cider doughnuts at the end.

Apparently the heavy rains we got earlier in the summer made for a bumper apple crop. The Macintoshes have never been so plentiful, large, or delicious. (We also picked Cortlands, Empires, and Mutsus.)

The orchard we usually go to keeps some farm animals around, including some lively goats:

I have more photos from today but am holding them back for APAD on Sunday and Monday. You'll just all have to live with the suspense until then.
