I love that amigurumi book. The patterns are adorable, easy to follow, and are in a wide range of difficulty levels. There are also excellent photos and instructions about how to do more complex stitches and seams.
The Dalek pattern is here. It's a good intermediate-level project, though doing all the bobbles gets mighty tiresome after a while.
