A slightly modified version of a meme snagged from [livejournal.com profile] chicklet73:

I know very little about some of the people reading this LJ. Some people I know relatively well. I read your journals, or we have something else in common and we chat occasionally. Some of you I hardly know at all. Perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. (AND I KNOW YOU'RE LURKING, BECAUSE I HAVE LJTOYS. HAHAHAHA! But it's okay to lurk, really, do it myself all the time.) Anyway, no matter why you're here, I thank you for your interest in the latest stupid thing I have to say.

But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself? Any old thing at all, the more trivial and fascinating, the better. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so... they enjoy juggling fish and have memorized the title of every single episode of
Star Trek."

I'd love it if every single person who's reading this entry would do this. Yes, even you people whom I know really well. (Besides, this will give me something amusing to take the edge off after I survive a 3-hour meeting this afternoon.) Then post this in your own journal and see what gems of knowledge appear.

I do not like egg yolks, unless they're all scrambled in with the rest of the eggs. Fried eggs? Only the whites, please. Same goes for hard-boiled.

Luckily, Scooter enjoys eating the yolks so he and I make a great egg-consuming team. *g*

I wrote my memoirs when I was 10 years old.

I used to consider English language my personal enemy as a pre-teen - who can feel anything save contempt for a language that spells a word John only to pronounce it as Mary?

Before I learned to drive in my thirties, I had dreams about being able of drive a car just like I dream about being able to fly.

Well, I USED to know every episode of Star Trek, back when there was only one - I've forgotten a lot now, though. Actually I watched most every episode of the original Star Trek the first time though! that's probably a bit more uncommon among LJ users. I can't say I actually understood it all - I was, like, seven - but I watched.

And I am so old that the year I went to freshman orientation at UT, they kept making all these jokes that I didn't understand, involving a big guy with a black helmet. I finally figured out that they had to do with this movie called Star Wars, which I went to see as soon as I got home.

LJToys make me feel REALLY PARANOID.

I believed in Santa Claus until I was twelve, I don't have a driver's license, and my favorite Doctor of the classic series was Jon Pertwee.

I'm the first woman in my family to graduate from college. Now, that may be trivia, but it always makes my grandmother happy. :)

My second toe is longer than my first toe and I can use my toes like they are fingers to pick up things.

I love beef tendon and monkfish liver, foie gras and tripe. I have even had natto that I think isn't too disgusting. But I can not stand even the stench of a banana.

There must be things you don't know about me, but nothing is coming to mind right off the top of my head.

At the moment, I have a drooly cat purring behind my head on the couch. This is...both endearing and not.

...but were afraid to ask

i am 35 years old and i live with my parents as of last month.

my teddy bear is plotting against me.

i would rather clean something than eat, shower, work, talk to people or watch tv.

i would rather read than clean something.

i have a college degree but i lost the four square foot paper it's printed on before i'd owned it a year.

i hate appointments.

i am a ricer, and as such cannot resist maintaining, repairing, restoring, hacking, or customizing nearly everything i own or am exposed to frequently.

i have spent a lot of time recently thinking of the character development of Hank Hill (King of the Hill) and Sam Vimes (Discworld) and mapping it to my own life.

i like cheese a lot.

I am not embarrassed about twirling my hair, procrastinating, fidgeting, mumbling, or any other one of my many nervous habits. But if you assume that I bite my nails, I will be unreasonably annoyed. I keep them short to play the viola, darn it.

Oh, right, and I found your journal looking at what people wrote about this year's Mystery Hunt, and kept reading because I'm procrastinating. :-)
