Man, another year already?
Fic written in 2012
The Five-Ish Stages of Grief (Handy/Rose, teen)
Eighty-One Hours in Leadworth (Amy/Rose, adult)
The Sum of Their Memories (Eleven/River/Romana II, adult)
Arms and the Man (Nefertiti/Riddell, adult)
Adventures With Rose Tyler (Eleven/Rose, adult; not yet added to the kinkmeme master list, but will be shortly)
... plus a snippet of Handy/Rose babyfic I'd never write (formerly locked, now public) and an untitled Four & Romana I drabble as a Christmas surprise for
ghost2:
Leitmotif of the year
Light filtering through characters' hair, apparently, since I referred to this twice in The Sum of Their Memories; also, the use of "that, and the ..." as a construction. Both phrases are now at least temporarily banned from my work due to overuse.
Overall thoughts
Oh, man, I thought I was busy at work last year, but I had no idea. This year, I had a major work-related writing and editing project that lasted roughly from April through mid-December, and which destroyed most of my fic-writing/editing brain. Seriously, I'm amazed I produced any fic at all, particularly given the amount of leisure time where the only thing my brain was capable of was playing multiple rounds of Fairway Solitaire on the iPad.
My best story of this year
The Sum of Their Memories. I worked my ass off on that story, and I hope it shows.
My favorite story of this year
Also The Sum of Their Memories, because it forced me to tie a bunch of fairly complicated thematic and plot threads into canon, and much as I whined about writing this story at the time, I am damned proud of the way it all fits together.
I'm also very fond of The Five-Ish Stages of Grief, because the tone feels just right to me, and also because it filled an open gap in the arc of Handy/Rose post-JE stories I've written.
Story of mine most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion
You may sense a theme here: The Sum of Their Memories. Dammit, fandom, more of you really need to be into Eleven/River/Romana II pegging fic.
Most fun story to write
The Five-Ish Stages of Grief, because it had to be at least a little fluffy, and writing with a light comic touch instead of ANGST ANGST ANGST is always fun for me. Also, it was a birthday present for someone I was pretty sure would enjoy it ;)
Story with the single sexiest moment
Eighty-One Hours in Leadworth. All of it, I think.
Most "Holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story
I thought sneaking a slightly psychic dildo into The Sum of Their Memories was going to be the winner here, but that was before I came up with the sonic buttplug in Adventures With Rose Tyler. (This post has now earned my "there's something wrong with me" tag.)
Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters
None of them, I think. It was my first time writing Nefertiti and Riddell, but I didn't feel like I learned anything new about the characters, other than that Riddell strikes me as the kind of alpha male who's secretly subby in bed.
Hardest story to write
Come on, you can guess it: The Sum of Their Memories. Months I spent working on that sucker. Months. There are several abandoned drafts (one of which involved sentient killer snowmen, heh), and the final version is based loosely on a concept I started working on last summer, where Ten keeps River in a USB key. (That one's probably going to remain unfinished now, obviously.)
Biggest disappointment
Not having enough brain to write more fic. So frustrating.
Biggest surprise
Never, ever underestimate the power of Rupert Graves fangirls. Arms and the Man got nearly 20 kudos on AO3 within the first 24 hours of posting it. It's up to 35 now. I have never had anything like that happen to one of my fics before.
Most unintentionally telling story
Probably Adventures With Rose Tyler, which was written out of a desperate need to write something other than that work-related stuff before the end of the year, and which still feels a little rough around the edges to me as a result. I have lower standards for myself on kinkmeme fic anyway, but I feel like it reads a little more formulaically than it might had it been written under different circumstances.
Story I haven't yet written, but intend to
I will finish this Eleven, Romana II, and River story for
who_at_50 if it kills me. There isn't even any sex -- if there were, it would probably be easier to write! After that, who knows? Maybe some Clara fic, once I've seen enough of her to feel confident in her voice.

"The Key to Time can wait, Romana!" The Doctor glided smoothly across the frozen lake, scarf fluttering behind.
Romana eyed him disapprovingly. Perhaps she'd taken a triple first in that, too.
"It's merely physics: force applied in one direction results in motion in the opposite. Like so." Romana pushed hard off her left foot, pirouetted, and skated backwards.
"Impressive for a beginner. But can you do this?" He leapt, twirling mid-air, and landed in a heap of scarf and indignity.
"Very impressive."
"Time for another Earth tradition, I think," the Doctor said, rubbing his hip. "Hot cocoa."
