Questions meme

miz_hatbox. The rules say that you have to tag 8 people for this, but she didn't, and neither am I.
What are your nicknames?
I don't really have a nickname, unless you count the one
columbina jokes Mr. Peterson has given me: "the enemy of fun." Most of the time, I'm the one who administers his meds, takes him to the vet, kicks him off the bed when it's time for me to go to sleep, etc. Sometimes, if he's sitting quietly with
columbina, he'll squeak or glare at me because he thinks I'm going to move him.
How do you style your hair?
So short I am sometimes mistaken for a man. You'd think my chest would be a dead giveaway that I am not, in fact, a man, but I guess some people are oblivious. Really oblivious.
What's the last book you read?
Joe Haldeman's Marsbound. Before that, The Yiddish Policemen's Union, by Michael Chabon. Right now, The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, by Junot Díaz.
What colour shirt are you wearing now?
Black and green plaid pajamas. It's nasty weather out, it's been a long day, and I'm not leaving the house again. I am entitled to wear my pajamas at 7:30pm if I feel like it.
Are you an introvert or extrovert?
Introverted, no question. This is why networking is one of the hardest things I have to do for my job -- I hate going to parties or gatherings where I don't really know anyone, because I find it so hard to strike up a conversation. Being an introvert has meant four and a half glorious years of working out of my house, where I don't have to interact with any other humans if I don't feel like it.
Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer?
Oh, PLEASE. Is that even a choice?
Safari 3 (Mac) is my default browser. I keep Firefox 3 open most of the time for posting anonymously to certain websites *cough*. Internet Explorer exists in my home only for website testing purposes.
Do you nap a lot?
Not as much as I'd like.
Who was the last person you hugged?
A designer I greeted at my morning meeting.
What's your current fandom/obsession/addiction?
If you don't know that I'm obsessed with Doctor Who, you haven't been paying attention to this LJ at all. I dearly love Lost, BSG, Mad Men, and The Amazing Race, but don't participate in those fandoms nearly to the extent I participate in DW fandom.
Am I addicted to anything? Probably the internet, but it's also my job to keep up with internet trends. That's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it.
What was the last thing you ate today?
Some roasted garlic Triscuits. Am currently drinking a 2005 Domaine de Deurre Vinsobres, probably a bottle I received in trade from a local sommelier whose website I coded. It's quite pleasant, and should go nicely with the beef stew in the oven.
How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?
If I have to, I can be showered, dressed, and out of the house in half an hour. Usually, though, the morning routine lasts about an hour, so that I've got time to eat breakfast and read the paper in the proper dead-tree format.
What three podcasts or radio shows can you not live without?
I don't listen to the radio all that often, but I do love "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me," "Car Talk," and WERS' Broadway show. The only two podcasts I listen to regularly are the BBC's DW commentaries and Ron Moore's BSG commentaries.
What's the last movie you watched?
Wall-E, on DVD. In the theater, Frost/Nixon.
Do you like to clean?
God, no. Hate it.
What time is your usual bedtime?
Between 10:30pm - 11pm.
What kind of mp3 player do you have?
I have a 40Gb scrollwheel iPod but haven't used it since I got the iPhone last August. I should really find that iPod a good home, but I am also reluctant to give up a 40Gb hard drive, even if I never use it. (You should see what our boxes full of computer cables look like ... we'll use them someday, I swear!)
What is your favourite weather?
Mid-50s, blue sky, autumn in New England.
How are you?
A little worn-out from the day, which started off too early with a long meeting downtown and a trek to said meeting in some truly foul weather. The glass of wine is helping, though.
Where would you see yourself in ten years?
I hate questions like this. Let's go with alive, happy, more out of debt than I currently am, and still married to that guy I've been with for fifteen years.
What are your nicknames?
I don't really have a nickname, unless you count the one
