You know snails will eat your garden, right? They're fun to look at until you realize they're the reason the leaves in the garden look like someone fired buckshot into them.
The ratio of snails to edible foliage in my backyard is very low, and so far, they've stayed out of my vegetable garden. I'd be much more worried if the little guys didn't have the entire lawn to chew on, not to mention the bittersweet and other weeds, before they get to stuff I actually value.
ETA: While weeding this morning, I discovered that apparently the columbines are the snails' preferred food. Make of that what you will.
I spent a portion of today killing slugs in my parents' garden. (And another portion photographing roses.) Your snail is much more attractive than the slugs, but just as destructive. I wonder if you could whip up a batch of them for dinner?
(Did you see DT at Wimbledon at Roger's match? I missed the match, but will be watching tomorrow; maybe he (and GM) will be back.
You know, I've wondered whether these snails are edible, but I think the effort of collecting enough to eat and then purging them for a few days before cooking probably isn't worth it. I like eating snails, but let's face it, there are more efficient ways to get garlic butter into your mouth.
I did see those two photos of DT and GM on tennant_love (he looked damned hot, in multiple senses of the word), but I'm not sure that even the chance of seeing him in the stands would be enough to convince me to watch tennis on TV.
