That "post the first line from your 20 most recent fics and figure out what this says about you" meme that's going around, posted all quick-like before I have to get in a car and drive forever to an agenda-less meeting.

I think all these say about me are that a) I like to kick off my stories with dialogue, and b) I write a lot of porn. Shocking, I know.

Note: not all fics here have been publicly posted yet. Lines posted in reverse chronological order.

1. "OW! Ow ow ow ow ow!"

2. "Rose, my penis is not a toy."

3. Two more minutes.

4. The pink sand beach is vast, and empty, and disappointingly, not terribly pink at all.

5. After the Time War, the Doctor stops sleeping.

6. There are few noises Lady Christina de Souza expects to hear at 3:23am: rain pattering against her windows, or perhaps the droning whine of a car alarm.

7. The Doctor’s mobile rings, chiming bells that jolt him from a sound sleep.

8. "Right this way, Mr. Gaiman," Ianto said, showing the author up the stairs to Jack's office.

9. It’s a last-minute favour for a friend, this “Ghosts of Las Vegas” article Sarah Jane agrees to write.

10. “There you are,” said Lisa, plucking Bernard from his perch on the toilet tank.

11. Martha shakes her head in disgust.

12. Smith and Eddington have been friends almost from the moment Smith arrived at Farringham, where Eddington delivered a guest lecture during Smith's first week.

13. “That one. I need that one, Martha,” says the Doctor, pointing to a display in the jeweller’s window.

14. "This is wrong. It's all wrong. I'm too early."

15. "You know what I've always wanted to try?" Rose says.

16. The blindfold drops like a curtain over Rose's eyes.

17. It isn’t as though the Doctor intended to visit Rose and his duplicate.

18. The first time Donna Noble meets John Smith, he's at Nerys' fancy dress party, rifling through her kitchen cabinets in search of Dijon mustard.

19. In Los Angeles, on what would otherwise be an ordinary sun-drenched day, the shadows of Metrapan warships are looming overhead, darkening the streets.

20. "The sample chapters of your autobiography were remarkable, Mr. Saxon," Lucy Cole says.

BONUS TIME! Technically, if I'm going to go in chronological order, #19 & #20 should be the one-sentence Bulwer-Lytton fics I wrote in comments somewhere, I think in [livejournal.com profile] kalleah's LJ. Since these barely count as fics, I didn't include them in the main list, but here they are anyway:

-----

The Doctor leaned down to kiss Rose, his lean, lanky fingers scissoring in her hair, his elastic and talented tongue girding itself for battle with hers, each tastebud a mighty foot soldier in the righteous war to claim every inch of her mouth for his own (the fillings and the chipped molar especially, not to mention her soft palate, which tasted strangely of Maltesers and strawberry gum) – and finally, finally when the orifice was fully conquered and Rose pulled away, breathless, to speak, her eyes sparkling with love and desire, she said, "Next time, have a breath mint first, yeah?"

-----

Atop the Crystalline Mountain of Justice, in the Hall of Unsurpassed Deliberations, in the Courtroom of Enigmatic Pontification, upon the Seat of Widening Rumpitude, Lord High Judge Elvis Kjasrk'wz faced the hardened career criminal before him, and for the eighty-ninth time, expressed his immeasurable dissatisfaction with the Skwarn'klk penal system, which offered but two punishments for Jack Harkness' heinous and unforgivable crimes: shag, or die.

I want to read #8. Aaaand maybe #12, although I'm kinda over my Farringham stage.

If you ever decide to write a major piece of crack, the second B-L sentence is a prime candidate for the opening line.

Blimey, I had read both those stories already.

I still want the B-L story, tho.

The second bonus one made me strain not to laugh out loud in my training class.
