Why I love my husband, part 35193: he links to Torchwood silliness for me, even though he has never watched the show himself, and I had to explain several of the jokes in the article to him.

I am totally making have totally made myself an icon out of those first couple of sentences describing the Rift.

I need jokes explained to me, too, probably, but since I'm hoping to get to watch Torchwood at some point, they may also present themselves as obvious later on.

Virtually none of the jokes are episode-specific, but I admit this piece will make a whole lot more sense to you after you've actually seen Torchwood. If Sci-Fi doesn't get off its lazy ass soon and buy the series, I can always (ahem) supply you with what you need.
