My OTP? Oh, this should be fun.

Given recent discussions, I think it's best if I start off by explaining that the definition of "OTP" I learned was pretty strict: it's your one true pairing, with all other pairings being less important, and possibly even invalid. Clearly not everyone shares this same definition, but for the purposes of this entry, it's the one I'm using.

I have no OTP for Doctor Who. I never have, and can't see myself ever having one in the future either. The closest I come is Doctor/TARDIS, which is more of a friendship pairing for me anyway – the true and abiding love between longtime companions, not romantic love. (Though I'm not averse to Doctor/TARDIS adult fic, depending on how it's done.)

I ship a whole bunch of pairings pretty actively – Doctor/River, Doctor/Rose, Doctor/Romana, Doctor/Master – and have some minor/obscure/improbable pairings I love as well, like Martha/Ace. But I've never wanted to restrict myself to just one pairing, or considered any of them (again, with the possible exception of Doctor/TARDIS) more important than the others. I don't know if it's just my vision of the character as not being monogamous – and for the record, I myself am extremely monogamous, so that has no bearing on my shipping preferences – or the fact that I know I'd get bored reading and writing the same pairings all the time, but that's just how it goes, I guess, and how it's been ever since I first started watching the show.
