Wikipedia's celebrating its tenth anniversary, so the MIT hacking community decided to join in:




Found on the door to the Admissions Office, which is located along the Infinite Corridor, the extremely long hallway that spans MIT's main building:



Note on the Dean for Student Life's office. I lol'd.



On a sculpture outside the Student Center. The note reads "Some or all of the formulas presented in this statue have missing or incomplete descriptions of their variables, symbols or constants, which may create ambiguity or prevent full interpretation. I wish we could hack UVA. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure we'd just get nailed for vandalism.

Yeah, it's no Church of Our Lady of the All-Night Tool or the Massachusetts Toolpike, but compared to some of the half-assed attempts to put crap on the Great Dome within the past few years (other than the TARDIS *cough*), I was pleased.

Thanks for posting this. I was seeing the signs all weekend at Hunt and I didn't realize it was because of Wikipedia's 10th anniversary, though it was clear it was a nice hack regardless. The "hallway too long" one was especially funny.

I'm really surprised I haven't heard anything else about this -- there's nothing on hacks.mit.edu, the Wikipedia page on MIT hacks hasn't been updated, and I've got the only Flickr photos tagged "wikipedia" and "MIT." The Tech doesn't publish until tomorrow, though, so maybe they'll have something on it then.
