1. I am now the proud owner of an iPad 2. Okay, I didn't desperately need one (although the ability to externally project from any application will probably come in very handy for work reasons), but then columbina decided he wanted an iPad 1, and we agreed he'd subsidize my new purchase if I gave him my current iPad. I have a pink Smart Cover. It is nifty.

2. ZOMG "THE DOCTOR'S WIFE" WAS AMAZING. I WANT TO DRAW MANY GIANT HEARTS ALL AROUND THIS EPISODE AND ITS DOCTOR/TARDIS SHIPPINESS OF LOOOOOOOOOVE. It's always been my fanon that the TARDIS wasn't exactly an unwilling participant in her own theft, and now it's CANON, BABY. They both stole each other away. THEIR LOVE IS TRUE ♥ ♥ ♥

I may need to go watch this again now.

I'm still a little surprised I was able to walk in and buy one, given that people still line up for them. (And two of the stores in my area were sold out except for Verizon models.) But it is a wonderful toy.

You realize, of course, you really should now write a story in which all of the other TARDISes are COMPLETELY SCANDALIZED at what that mad TARDIS did/wants to do/will do, and how on Gallifrey did/will she find a time lord to go along with this insane plan? (They would be, you know. Scandalized, I mean. In a diffuse, timey-wimey, spacey-wacey sort of way.)

I love that it's canon now that she was just as involved in her theft as the Doctor was and that she TOTES LOVES HIM (and he loves her, but we already knew that.)

There was so much to love in this episode and absolutely nothing to dislike!

I loved that the Doctor stole the TARDIS because she wanted to steal a Time Lord. I love that she's as nuts as he is. And I love that she's aiding and abetting his delusion that he's only 900-ish. He totally lies about his age, and she backs him up!** Seven hundred years, my giddy aunt.

My face is doing this right now: :D Also, how happy am I that my OTP is cannon now? SO HAPPY.



Also: I am NOT AT ALL JEALOUS that you have an iPad 2.

This episode just makes me want to dance around in happy little circles. They love each other SO MUCH.

When is your next pay period? It would be great to have you back on LJ more often.

I get paid this coming Thursday, but it will be the pay period two weeks after that before we get the new computer. And I cannot wait. It sucks to push a button or click a link and have time to put in a load of laundry before the computer actually responds. I can actually watch myself type. I cannot wait to have my shiny new Mac.

Why do computers get so slow? Or is it just PCs? Am I going to face the same thing when I get the Mac?

PS: I miss the Internet like crazy. There are only so many things one can do from an iPhone, and I feel a little guilty surfing the web at work (not that it stops me, but I try to stay away from time-sucks like LJ and Tumblr).

It happens to all computers eventually in that as time passes, web and browser technology gets more powerful and resource-intensive, while your computer hardware stays the same. That said, there are often system optimizations you can perform to improve your computer's performance -- not just buying more RAM (which is often the simplest solution), but also running defragmenters and other cleanup utilities to remove spare files that could be slowing things down.

I suppose the cheaper option would be to buy more RAM. But the more fun one is to buy an iMac. (To be fair, this computer is 5 years old. That's pretty good for a PC. We're going to keep him, and maybe use him as a Boxee or something.)

I'd probably be more impressed if I had not already been an iPad owner, but it is still a damned nice little machine. For some reason I thought you owned one already, though maybe I'm just thinking that because I know you have an Air?
