In all the fuss about whether the DW series finale completely sucked or just mostly sucked (though I realize there are a few people who actually liked it), I think we are losing sight of the worst part of this entire series:

SERIES 3 CONTAINED NO LICKING WHATSOEVER.

I feel cheated. Rusty, please send David Tennant over here to correct this problem immediately.

Simm + licking = a very good thing. But I still feel cheated. I mean, the closest we got was Ten looking at that nasty proto-Dalek as if he were thinking about licking it. NOT ACCEPTABLE.

He did wiggle his tongue a lot. Hey, put that thing away if you aren't going to use it.

(I think the near-constant specs may have mostly made up for the lack of tongue, for me. Maybe that's what went wrong with LOTTL? The specs could have saved it.)

I admit that the specs did help immensely, as did the sweaty scenes in "42."
