30 Days of Who meme, day 7: your favorite piece of music

The show's theme, of course, but since that's the obvious choice, I'm going to go with something else: an incidental throwaway of Murray Gold's from "Gridlock" called "Gridlocked Cassinis." Murray can be terribly schmaltzy at times (and please, Moff, don't ever let him write song lyrics on your watch), but "Gridlocked Cassinis" is a light-hearted bit of early 60's-style cocktail jazz fluff -- if you like Combustible Edison, you're probably going to like this, too.

Ooh, how do you do this embedded player thing? I would like to do that.

Get a free box.net account and create a shared folder open to other people. Once you upload the file, you'll get a window with options for sharing it; there's a tiny pulldown menu with even more options, and somewhere in there is "embed." Pick that, size the embed properly, and go for it. (The only problem I ran into is that for some reason, Dreamwidth didn't cross-post the embed -- usually it does that automatically.)

I seriously considered whether I should send you an annotated screenshot. I design interfaces for a living, and *I* had a hard time figuring this one out!

It took me forever to realize you had to right-click to get that final menu -- not at all intuitive. But now that I know how to extract sound from Youtube, make embedded players, and post media on Livejournal, I'm going to be dangerous :).

Once the series 4 soundtrack was released, I noticed the similarity between this song and Donna's theme, which I love.
