Via Warren Ellis' blog: Ward Sutton analyzes 2008 presidential campaign logotypes and marks, in cartoon form. This is wonderful, not just because I think Sutton's analysis is dead-on, but also because he explains very clearly how different typographical and visual elements contribute to (or detract from) each candidate's brand. Recommended for political and design geeks alike.

I'm so revolted by anything having to do with W that I never stopped to consider that those damn bumper stickers of his are actually well-designed.

EXACTLY. Though it's worth noting that the design techniques that made the Bush/Cheney logotype strong and recognizable work just as well when you replace the text with "Cheney/Voldemort." I will never get tired of seeing those bumper stickers.
