Okay, one last entry before bedtime

I made the mistake of posting a "1,000 Drabbles of Awesome" prompt of "crossover with any Thomas Pynchon novel," and now I want to write it.

I may have just written two verses of a silly song that would appear, Pynchonesque, in a Gravity's Rainbow crossover.

How about a slash story (am I using the right term?) including Porpentine and Moldweorp? They seem like prime candidates for that sort of thing.

I was sitting here trying to remember who those characters were, couldn't locate them in the Gravity's Rainbow character index I found online, and then Google told me they were in V, which I've only read once, maybe 16 years ago. I should really read it again, because it was very good. And yes, those two characters together would be slash.

The current concept is a musical dance number starring Slothrop, taking place while he's still in London during the Blitz. This is actually a natural spot for a DW crossover, since there was a Series 1 episode that takes place during the Blitz as well.

The fact that I am expending any brain cells at all on this scares me a little.

They are also the stars of Under the Rose from the Slow Learner short-story connection.

My utter lack of knowledge of Dr. Who makes this a less fun game for me to play, though I do know and like GR, even though, the first thing I think of about GR is the coprophagia scene. (The second is the name of the law firm, Salitieri, Poore, Nash, De Brutus and Short, which is as excellent a pun as I've ever come across.)

I've read Slow Learner as well, but again, only once. Gravity's Rainbow and The Crying of Lot 49 are the ones I come back to repeatedly; the latter because the Trystero conspiracy cracks me up, and the former because I see something new every time I read it.

The GR scene I always remember is the one with Slothrop in an elderly English woman's home, tasting all her incredibly foul candies, which I realized later was Pynchon joking about Bassett's Liquorice Allsorts.
