Topsfield Fair 2011

It was Topsfield Fair day yesterday.

There were sleepy sheep:



and a terrified tree:



a random faerie:



and her turtle house:



mutant cephalopod face-painting:



John Travolta guest-modeling on a carousel medallion:



Smurfs hanging for dry-aging:



a new ride you'll never get me on (although I did ride the log flume):



Raphael in squash form:



and best of all, the periodic table of pumpkins.

Damn, I want to go this year, but I have that surgery on my wrist on Friday. Maybe I could go Wednesday afternoon/evening. ::ponders::

(I had done a little series of photographic essay pages (http://www.windhaven.com/topsfield/cows.html) of the fair, back in 2001, when a friend from NYC, eleanor, came up to visit. The more things change, the more the Topsfield Fair remains the same, eh? :) )

My God, it really is the same! I'm glad you got some shots of the racing pigs -- I've never been able to get close enough to see them myself.
