Jul. 23rd, 2008 09:09 pmSo, the Medusa Cascade is one second out of sync with the rest of the universe, which is how the Daleks hide the 27 planets ... but unless I missed something, the handwaving Rusty does in JE to put them back into place (the "magnetron") just moves the planets around, and doesn't do anything to resynchronize the Medusa Cascade itself. Is that right?
(Yes, of course this is fic-related. But not urgent.)

on 2008-07-24 03:05 pm (UTC)If anything not in time-sync with the rest of the universe isn't visible, then why are the Doctor and the TARDIS visible?
Um ... magic Time Lord technology?
Actually, Gallifrey is supposed to exist "at the nexus of time and space," or something like that, which is why there aren't any AU Time Lords. So presumably they are Speshul in a way that allows them to be visible despite transcending the universe's normal clock, or something like that.

on 2008-07-25 01:42 am (UTC)Except ... except ... there WAS at least one AU Time Lord. The Doctor, in Donna's parallel reality in Turn Left. Want things that make my head hurt? That's one. If it's the Doctor as he might have been, isn't that the definition of AU?
