About the best thing I can say about today is that my HTML earrings arrived, and they are charming and geeky.

The rest of the day is perhaps best described by this photo.

I'm very tempted by her periodic table necklaces. Very awesome and geeky. I have some very nice earrings in my collection and rarely wear them. The only way I can keep them on is to simply be unable to take them on. *points to the cbrs in her ears now*

Ha! That's exactly how I am about earrings -- I don't object to wearing them, and I enjoy having something shiny in my ears, but I need to have earrings that don't come out easily. Right now I have the horseshoe kind, with balls on either end.

Oh, I like those too!
Eventually, I'd love to get a row of CBRs up and down my ear, but I haven't found a good piercer after the guy I went to went into another profession. Alas.

Also, here is another photo (http://icanhascheezburger.com/2007/06/14/my-pantone-colors/) for your workday woes!

What's amazing to me is that I think I get the earrings' joke.

Must. Banish. Technology. From. Head.

It reminds me of those great shirts that the front said <BODY> and the back said </BODY> As an HTML geek, I think that stuff is pretty awesome.

And I do have a <GEEK> shirt too...

When I was at the Institvte last summer, I found the most excellent shirt, which took me about 30 seconds to get, whereupon I convulsed with laughter. I can't reproduce it in this space, but the gist was it was comprised of three adjacent formulas or symbols:

The first was E divided by c squared. The second was the square root of -1. The third was PV divided by nR. About every fifth time I wear the shirt, I get a priceless reaction.

Oh, and Iko, I love your icon. I can hardly wait for the second series to get to BBC America.

Heh, that's a fun shirt! I like it because it requires the viewer to engage and to have knowledge beyond what is there.

For the World of Warcraft geeks, I really love the t-shirt with [Chest] in purple worn by ladies with impressive/lovely breasts.

And yay for Life on Mars! This icon is a non-spoilery one from the last episode of the second series (a moment later and it's TOTAL SPOILER ACTION). It's such a brill series and I'm worried about the American remake.

Sam is just one serious guy, so when he smiles, it really lights up the room, which is why I just had to cap it for a user pic.

I think my biggest problem with the American remake of Blackpool is that it won't bring the exposure that the UK version so richly deserves with US audiences. Ditto Life on Mars. As far as I have read and understood it, UK Blackpool was met with quite a bit of critical acclaim in the States (thus the Golden Globe nomination). Life on Mars was at least as good as Blackpool but it seems that the American audience for it seemed much smaller.

Where is your cap from? I really love DT in glasses and I thought it was from Ep3-11, but it isn't. Not with a white shirt. (Oh yeah, and I can't help grabbing this one. One-line spoilery, I suppose, but not outright evil spoilery. Not as evil spoilery as caps of the last 15 minutes of the episode, which I so want to do but manage some modicum of control.)

I bought the HEAD earrings. Chip took one look and said, "Wow, even I wouldn't buy something *that* geeky." (Which isn't true; he has shirts I can't understand.)
