Eleven years after the first Harry Potter book was released, io9.com* discovers there is Dumbledore slashfic.

*Admittedly, io9 hasn't been around more than a year, but COME ON.

I thought the tone of the piece was kind of strange -- Annalee totally knows about slash, duh. I don't read io9 often enough to know what she thinks of her readership, though? I mean, it does seem like some of the commenters were like, "WTF?" and some were "ho hum" -- so perhaps she wasn't sure which way they'd take it.

I had the impression from something she twittered a week or two ago that she just sort of felt like writing a column about Dumbledore slash, though. :)

Yeah, I had to figure Annalee knew about it, which is one of the reasons the piece struck me as being so out of place. It was absolutely the kind of piece Danny always called "anti-news" on NTK ;)

(though I can certainly understand the desire to share when one has found some particularly nice porn ...)
